A high degree of design
Following on from the success of the MB Building Kit System and RS system, item Industrietechnik GmbH, based in Solingen, Germany, has now received the iF product design award for its Line X.
The accolade represents a reward for item's endeavours in the hope of realising a consistent and uniform design within a new product line.
With the Line X, item is offering a range within its MB Building Kit System which, in terms of design quality, sets itself apart from the rest by demonstrating a unique system component shape.
All of the Building Kit elements open up a range of options to the user for quickly and flexibly creating supporting and concealing structures with a high-quality yet unobtrusive appearance.
The Line X features profiles with open and covered grooves, which can be used in both plant and mechanical engineering on an individual basis.
The clean lines of the new item profiles enable all components to be connected smoothly and seamlessly, thanks to an edge radius that is as small as possible.
The closed surfaces of the profiles and their connection points are of particular importance to clean room applications and meet the most stringent requirements.
Since any of the groove covers can be removed, they offer fastening options for additional profiles wherever these are needed. Moreover, thanks to its universal profile groove 8, the Line X is compatible with components from the item MB Building Kit System.
Colour-coordinated accessories, such as cover caps, angle brackets, fastening components, handles and locks, add the finishing touches to the uniform and unobtrusive design of the entire machine structure.
