Sponsorship at item
Commitment is important to us!
As a globally active company, item supports numerous local initiatives, including humanitarian, cultural and charitable projects. We focus on initiatives for young people and talented young individuals. Working with our branches and partners, we seek out opportunities for constructive collaboration with organisations who are committed to social responsibility in their local areas.
Sponsorship from item enables schools to fund specific projects and also gives young artists the chance to demonstrate their talent. As we see it, however, social responsibility also means training young people and integrating them into working life. That being the case, item invests in staff training and provides specialist training worldwide.
The overview below provides a snapshot of our social commitment.

Paving the way for world heritage
The Müngstener Brücke is the highest railroad bridge in Germany and is listed as a historical monument since 1995. As a Solingen-based company, item supports this special project and is the official World Heritage Enabler for the Müngstener Brücke.

Support for youth sport
The Solingen Alligators baseball team won the German Championships in 2006 and 2014. The club considers youth development work to be very important. Like many minority sports, baseball finds it difficult to cover running costs and struggles to keep costs down, in particular for young players. Sponsors such as item help diversify the range of sporting opportunities.

A safe place for families
SOS Children's Villages is a worldwide network that helps children, young people and families in need. At 230 locations, the organization offers its educational services and practical support for disadvantaged young people and their families. They find shelter, a roof over their heads and help for everyday life. item supports several locations through donations.

Education in Tanzania
Upendo e.V. supports social projects in Africa, especially Tanzania. For example, a new school has been opened in Emboreet, an isolated village in the Massai Steppe. Locals initiated the project to provide further education for young people, especially women, and enable them to remain in the region. As a result, they can continue their education while also supporting their families.
